Dr. Heike Kreher studied Micro-/Nanostructures at Saarland University. For her diploma thesis in Physics she analysed the effect of Carbon Nano Tubes on intestinal cells which she completed in the pharmaceutical group of Prof. Claus-Michael Lehr in 2007. She received her PhD (Dr.-Ing.) degree at the chair of Micromechanics, Microfluidics and Microactuators of Prof. Helmut Seidel (2nd supervisor Prof. Andreas Manz). After successfully completing her dissertation ’Microfluidic cell culture chip with integrated dilution gradient generator for in vitro tests’, she joined Micronit GmbH in 2016 as Process Engineer where she took over the technical lead of customer projects and funded research projects. Since then, she has been involved in the development of lab-on-a-chip microfluidic devices and MEMS projects for life science applications. After taking over the position as R&D Project Manager, she was responsible for both, managing key customer projects as well as coordinating the funded research projects. In 2020 she joined the group of Prof. Alfred Ludwig at RUB and focuses on the research topic of MEMS for material discovery.
